Overview

What you can save and how to find it

Save notes, photos, videos, places, people and pets, music, links, spending, deadlines, and item locations. Find them again by date, place, person, or another detail you remember.

  • Save something now and organize it later.
  • Search by connections between records as well as dates and keywords.

Editor

Write, add context, and set reminders

The rich text editor keeps formatted text, checklists, links, and reminders together in one note.

  • Attach the day's weather, a place, or an Apple Music track. A network connection is used only to retrieve that information. Current location requires location permission, and music requires Music permission.
  • Choose photos, videos, and Live Photos from the photo library. wondays references the originals and does not make another in-app copy beyond the thumbnail cache.
  • Use OCR to scan a document or image and turn it into editable text. Additional recognition models are available from Additional Content and require a network connection and free storage to download.
  • Match the note background color to colors from a photo, or turn adaptive background color off.

capture

Capture, imports, and sharing

A record can hold text, photos, video, tags, a place, reminders, music, and links. Photos and videos remain references to their originals, while content from other apps keeps its original source and a way back.

  • Any content with a link wondays can open can usually be saved; this is not limited to a short list of content types. Collections remain in their original apps while the items you choose become searchable together across apps by date, tag, person, or place.
  • Private notes and app lock use device authentication.
  • Import from other apps, or share only content you choose from wondays. A note becomes a share card with an automatic layout for image and text, image-only, or text-only content.

Music and sources

Keep music and its source together

Search saved music notes in Discover. Save the track that is playing as a music note, or import a track shared from another music app. Shared tracks keep their source app. When the same track can be found in Apple Music, wondays prefers the playable Apple Music item.

  • Search the Apple Music catalog by song or artist. wondays can also suggest playlists for an activity, mood, or setting.
  • Tap the artwork to play. Playback requires an Apple Music subscription, Music permission, and a network connection.
  • Tap the source to return to the original app when it supports that link.
  • Non-music content shared from other apps also keeps its source. Return to the original app, or open the content in the built-in full-screen browser.

time

Calendar, week, day, and timeline

Switch between calendar, week, day, and timeline views to revisit records in chronological order. Calendar events can add context to the day.

  • A display date can differ from the creation date.
  • Expiry and reminders keep time-sensitive records visible.
  • In day view, swipe to move between days. The back of each card can hold up to 20 characters for the harder part of the day or a feeling you would rather keep behind the front.
  • Share a day-view page so other people can review future plans or an upcoming itinerary.

Space

See records and places on the map

Notes with location data appear on the map, with nearby records grouped into a single marker. Open a record from its marker, or choose a place on the map to create a new record.

  • Place names, addresses, categories, phone numbers, and websites come from MapKit. Call, website, and Apple Maps directions actions appear only when the place provides them.
  • Place images prioritize photos from your own records. Where available, wondays can show Apple Look Around. If neither is available, it may use a public Wikimedia Commons image with attribution.
  • Current location requires location permission. Place search requires a network connection.

People and pets

Organize people and pets in photos

The people recognition model and pet recognition model group people and pets that recur in your photos. Review each suggested group, name it, or link it to an existing person or pet.

  • Download the people recognition model and pet recognition model separately from Additional Content.
  • You can correct recognition results by moving photos, splitting or merging groups, reclassifying a result as a person, pet, cat, or dog, and dismissing a false detection.
  • Names, relationship labels, and aliases make people and pets easier to find through Discover and system search.
  • Automatic pet organization currently supports cats and dogs.

Discover

Search everything with Discover

Discover searches notes, people, places, music, stored items, expiry records, and Expense entries in one place. It checks records on your device first, then narrows the results with dates, tags, categories, relationships, and words you remember.

  • Discover does not require Apple Intelligence for basic searches.
  • When you ask about your own records, information stored on your device takes priority.

Wondy

Ask Wondy in natural language

Wondy is the assistant built into wondays. It interprets intent, dates, people, places, categories, totals, and counts, then answers with records found through Discover. All question analysis happens on device.

  • Arithmetic, supported unit conversions, date differences, and built-in everyday knowledge return immediately without using Apple Intelligence.
  • For more complex questions, Apple Intelligence can help interpret the request and organize the answer. This requires iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later, a compatible device, a supported language and region, Apple Intelligence enabled, and the on-device model ready.
  • Only questions that need outside information search public sources such as Wikipedia and Wikidata. Source links are included.

Life tools

Life tools when you need them

Life tools provide focused ways to record, organize, and manage different parts of your personal life within wondays.

  • The initial release includes Expense, Expiry, and Where Things Are. Each tool includes a 15-day trial.
  • After the trial, purchase the tools you need separately or use every available life tool with a wondays studio membership.

Personalization

Themes and Home Screen widgets

Choose light mode or dark mode, along with multiple color themes and scene themes.

  • Themes change presentation only and do not alter note content.
  • Add and configure Home Screen widgets to personalize how wondays appears on the Home Screen.

System integrations

Spotlight, Siri, Shortcuts, and system integrations

Use wondays with Spotlight, Siri, Shortcuts, the share sheet, voice input, Calendar, Reminders, Apple Music, and Maps.

  • Core on-device recording remains available if you decline optional permissions.
  • Some features vary by language, region, and Apple service availability.

data boundary

Local encryption and optional iCloud sync

By default, records live in an on-device SQLCipher-encrypted database. Sync is optional and uses your own iCloud account only after you enable it.

  • wondays does not operate a file server for uploading photos or videos, or a server that reads personal records.
  • Personal records, photos, and people or pet recognition data are never sent to a third-party AI API.
  • Network access is used only to fetch external information from services such as MapKit, Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Commons. Only the place or query needed for that request is sent.
  • Each permission is requested for its related capability.
